4 DAYS HO CHI MINH CITY - CU CHI TUNNELS - VUNG TAU BEACH
Highlights: Cu Chi tunnels, Vung Tau beach, Independent Palace, War remnant museum, Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera House, City Hall.
DAY 1 : HOCHIMINH ARRIVAL (D)
Meet on arrival and transferred to hotel for check-in. Free at leisure till dinner. Overnight in Hochiminh city
DAY 2 : CUCHI TUNNELS – VUNG TAU BEACH (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we depart for Cuchi. This underground tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during our struggle for independence. Before exploring the system, we watch a short documentary film of how this extraordinary tunnels constructed. We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels ( with 3 levels ). Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of war.
After lunch, we leave for Vung Tau, traveling by immense rubber and cashew nut plantations, as well as scenic rice fields.
Dinner and overnight in Vung Tau.
Day 3 : VUNG TAU HOCHIMINH CITY (B,L,D)
Breakfast. We visit the White House Palace (a summer residence of the last emperor Bao Dai), offering a wonderful view of the beach and the city. You also visit Nirvana Meditation Retreat and Thich Ca Phat Dai, a Buddhist shrine, French-built light house and the giant Jesus Christ statue as optional choices.
Seafood lunch at a local restaurant. Free time for relaxing at Bai Sau Beach. Late afternoon, transferred back to HCMC. Dinner and Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
DAY 4 : HOCHIMINH DEPARTURE (B,L)
Breakfast. Check-out and enjoy city tour. We will visit the Independent Palace which was the residence of the President Ngo Dinh Diem of the former South Vietnam until 1975; continue to the War remnant museum which comprehensively documents the travails of the long Vietnam - American War; the rest of time, strolling along Dong Khoi street, formerly known as the Rue Catinat, the main shopping thoroughfare and heart of old colonial Saigon. Pass by classic European-style landmarks such as the ornate City Hall, the Opera House (only be viewed from the outside), and pay a quick visit the Central Post Office.
